Blue Ridge Parkway

The Blue Ridge Parkway runs part of the Appalachian Mountains through North Carolina and Virgina. We aimed to do most of our journey from Atlanta, GA to Washington, DC on this road but the conditions stopped us short on our first day. Fog and rain paired with the setting sun made the Interstate system a whole load more desirable. But for our second day we managed a good two hours before time constraints pushed us back to the Interstate. In those two hours we saw rolling fields, beautiful forests, vast mountains, dense fog, two deer and a coyote – who valiantly dashed across the road.
