The New Zealand city of Christchurch has recently been struck by a devastating earthquake. Many people have lost homes and loved ones. A third of the city’s buildings may need to be pulled down and the death toll is still rising while search efforts are still underway. There has however been good fortune in the emergency services, army/navy and overseas support that has been available to Christchurch. Many volunteers have been involved in aiding those affected through supplies, fundraising, information, clean up and taking in those who need shelter. Though this is all a tremendous effort and a huge amount of help there will still be a long way to go yet. The Red Cross is accepting donations directly to a relief fund for this disaster. Please consider donating a little towards this cause.
