Doubles (Atlanta, GA)

Doubles are a street food from Trinidad & Tobago. It’s simply two pieces of fried bread with a spicy chickpea filling, but they still manage to stand out as uniquely Trinidadian. Knowing that I won’t actually make it to Trinidad any time soon, it was number two on my list of Trinidadian food to try while in the USA – number one was Bake & Shark. My uncle in Atlanta took us to a restaurant serving up some of the food I remember from my childhood visit there. After eating a whole plate of spicy & delicious we took away a couple doubles for the road.

If you’re looking for the doubles or any other Trinidadian food in Atlanta, GA the place to find it is:
Tassa Roti Shop
224 Powers Ferry Rd
Marietta, GA 30067
